SMS Consent & Messaging Policy

Last updated: April 15, 2026

Pylor, Inc. ("Pylor") operates a business-communication platform that enables small and medium-sized businesses ("Merchants") to interact with their customers via SMS and voice. This page explains how and when Pylor and Pylor-powered Merchants send text messages, how consent is obtained, and how recipients can opt out at any time.

Who Sends Messages

Text messages sent through the Pylor platform originate from a dedicated 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone number assigned to each Merchant. Messages are sent by that Merchant — Pylor acts as the underlying technology provider, not the sender of record.

If you have questions about a specific message you received from a Pylor-powered number, please contact the Merchant directly or email support@pylor.ai with the phone number that sent the message.

Types of Messages

Merchants use Pylor to send the following types of SMS messages to their customers:

  • Appointment confirmations and reminders — sent after a customer books a service, and again before the scheduled time.
  • Follow-up messages — sent after a service is completed (e.g., "Thank you for visiting — how did we do?").
  • Review requests — a single message inviting the customer to leave a review, sent after a completed appointment.
  • Inbound responses — replies to messages the customer initiated (e.g., questions sent to the business via SMS).
  • Re-engagement messages — occasional outreach to existing customers about promotions or service reminders (sent only where prior consent was obtained).

Message frequency varies by Merchant and the services you use. Standard message and data rates may apply.

How We Obtain Consent

Pylor-powered businesses collect SMS consent in one or more of the following ways:

Example — Web Booking Form Opt-In

When a customer books an appointment or fills out a contact form on a Merchant's website, they see a checkbox like the one below before submitting:

(555) 000-0000

By checking this box, I consent to receive text messages from this business, powered by Pylor, at the phone number provided. Messages may include appointment confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for help. View the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

The checkbox is unchecked by default. Consent is never a condition of purchasing a service or booking an appointment.

In addition to web form opt-in, consent may also be obtained:

  • Verbally — a customer verbally agrees to receive SMS messages when speaking with or visiting the Merchant, and the Merchant records that consent.
  • Via inbound message — a customer initiates a text message to the Merchant's Pylor number. By sending first, the customer provides implied consent to receive replies within that conversation.
  • Via keyword opt-in — a customer texts a keyword (e.g., BOOK, INFO, JOIN) to the Merchant's number to subscribe to updates.

Merchants are responsible for obtaining, documenting, and honoring customer consent in accordance with applicable law, including the TCPA. Pylor's Terms of Service require all Merchants to comply with applicable laws.

How to Opt Out

You can opt out of SMS messages from any Pylor-powered business at any time by texting STOP to the number that sent you a message. You will receive one final confirmation message and then receive no further messages from that number.

Other opt-out keywords also work: STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT.

To re-subscribe after opting out, text START or YES to the same number.

For help, text HELP to receive contact information for the Merchant and a reminder of how to opt out.

Opt-out is immediate and permanent per number.

Once you text STOP to a number, that number will not send you any more messages unless you choose to re-subscribe. Opting out of one Merchant's number does not affect messages from a different Merchant's number.
